At Winslow Animal Control there are two types of fostering: Traditional Fosters and Foster to Keep. Below are the descriptions of each type of fostering

Traditional Foster Care

This type of foster care is the kind that most people think of when looking to help their local shelter. If you wish to foster an animal you will need to fill at the proper paperwork at the shelter. The amount of time you foster an animal is up to you. During this time you will be helping the animal to socialize with humans in a home so that their chances of adoption become higher.

Foster-to-Keep

This type of fostering is to help people find out if the animal they wish to adopt adapts well into your home. We understand that every situation is different and not every animal is for every home. This allows families a chance to bring the animal home for up to a month to be sure they socialize well with all the elements of your home, such as children, other dogs, etc.
